[The feed clicks on to the sound of panicked, raspy breathing. Small fingers fumble at the device for several long seconds before words come, halting and strained.]

A-Allen! I-!... I was back in the l-lab and then I woke up here a-and- [Alma cuts off, coughing wetly away from the feed for a minute before he manages to gather himself and continue]

Yu's not br-breathing and he's not getting b-back up!

[That's fine, he's just relieved ― an exhausting, bone-deep sort of relief ― that they're both alright. He'll keep the feed on, but won't interrupt until they've gotten themselves sorted out. It's going to take him a while to cross the river anyway.]

Yeah, it's me... [He puts a shaky hand on Kanda's shoulder, smearing his blood on Kanda's cloak.]

This isn't Jordan... [Just a deep breath before he reaches up to scrape the dried blood from his face.]

Did you go back to the lab? [Totally unaware of any video feed going on.]

[He nods, wiping an arm beneath his nose. His body bears the tell-tale signs of synchro testing. Not so bad as the usual series' always gets, but ten minutes is only enough time for one run through.]

[Nothing from Allen yet, just the sound of rushing water as he crosses the river.]

[Alma gets a very gentle headpat, easily recalling how extremely fragile their bodies were after testing. He opens his mouth to say something, but the sound of Allen running through the river catches his attention.]

[Alma sniffs and absently reaches for his PDA.]

Allen's coming...

[Pipes in at the mention of his name, sounding a little distracted as he regards the barrier from the cover of some trees.]

I'm on my way. Alma? Do you think you're up for that video I was asking you about?

[Alma carefully moves to get to his feet, rather unsteady (and from where Kanda can see, just a little bit crumbly) as he tries to get close enough to a window so that he can give Allen a decent view outside.]

[turns his attention back to the feed, finally noticing how much it's wobbling. just how bad were those tests?]

―Alma, it's okay. [his voice is calm. soothing, even; when all he really wants to do is punch something.] I can wait. Let your body heal first.

The hell do you expect me to do when I get ambushed by a Noah? [He did tell you the last person he saw in Jordan before was a Noah.

Kanda's getting to his feet and walks over to where Alma is, gently taking his PDA from him.]

Your arm will fall of again.

A Noah? [Alma's eyes go wide, and that momentary distraction is plenty long enough for Kanda to take the PDA. The camera's view shifts as the device changes hands, and Alma fidgets gingerly.]

I think it's okay...

[Here's hoping you're looking at the screen, Kanda, because this will be Allen shaking his head ever so imperceptibly, trying to somehow communicate with wide eyes that you should, well, close your mouth to keep more brainbreak from falling out.]

Get back up, I suppose. Which you just did, so you must be fine back home. [POINTEDLY.]

[And now a pause as he tries to catch a glimpse of Alma. He's not sure which part distresses him more, 'your arm will fall off' or 'again'.]

I asked Alma for a video of your surroundings, but it can wait. Are both of you healing up?

[Alma seems slightly comforted by Allen's insistence, his focus still on Kanda.]

[He points out a few key structures to Tim, hopefully it'll be enough to get them there.]

[He... kind of doubts they'll need his help by the time he gets there, but he's not leaving anything to chance.]
